Hello!!.. we are the students from Argentina that are coming in February.. and we are writing to tell you about our fantastic English Fun Show that was last week!!
It was based on " The little Mermaid" story..Most of the main characters in the play were from our class.. the little mermaid was Sofi Rothman, Fiore Gastaldi was King Triton.. Lara Lehmann was Flounder.. and the guys played the 'batucada´..
The other characters were from other classes. There were 198 students on stage.
It was a complete success.. people were shocked! they all loved it...
the whole school participated in this event: some guys in scenery, others in backstage, others in the choir, make up, mics, canteen, merchandising, sound effects, lights, batucada, etc..
This event takes place every year in our school.. its so nice to see all the students working for the same thing..
The teachers are very happy because fortunately everything ended up awesomely.. we'll send photos as soon as they are processed.

Thanks to Facebook, keeping in contact with our Argentine and Walker school friends could not be easier! Because most of the kids from the States (including myself) helped create Facebooks for our hosts while instructing them on how to use it as well, Facebook spread to pretty much everyone we met and allows us to stay in touch with everyone of our new friends. Because Facebook usernames are just the actual names of the users, there's no need for remembering screen names or email addresses as long as you know the name of the person you want to stay in touch with. Already the walls (areas where messages are publicly left on one's respective Facebook page) of all the U.S. kids are covered in Castellano (Argentine Spanish) posts and responding to them in Spanish provides a great way for us to continue practicing the language. Plenty of pictures have been added by students from both countries and they really provide a testament to the incredible times we shared together. It's obvious that everyone misses everyone with most posts ending in either "I miss you!" or "Te extraño!" Through our ongoing correspondence with our amazing new friends we shouldn't be missing out on any news in between now and February and even through the craziness of the upcoming school year and college applications we'll be able to communicate and remember just how incredible our time spent in Argentina was. I am really amazed at the impact the visit of Westminster students has had on our school community. There were two Atlantians in our class in Level 4 and their contributions were outstanding. My students are much younger than the kids who visited us, so it was a great experience for them and they are all very enthusiastic about both hosting foreign students next year and participating in exchanges in future years.
It has also been very positive as regards teachers who do not teach English. They had always been reluctant to have exchange students in their classes because they feared that the discipline would be disrupted or that kids would waste time. I have met several of them after the people from Westminster left our school and they have all said that they really saw how important this experience has been for our students, how amazing it was to have these almost stars integrated to our school community for two weeks and how much the kids form Westminster have learned about our culture during their visit.
Two thumbs up for the successful and enriching experience! Let's keep our fingers crossed that this program will go on for many years!

I can't believe that the trip is over. It feels like we've only been here for a couple of days. Saying goodbye to our Argentines was one of the saddest things that I've had to do and I can't wait to see them again in February. This trip has been absolutely perfect, it really was an amazing experience. Every minute was so much fun, the time few by.

Although these two weeks are over, the memories will carry on. Sharing music and dance moves, late night boliche adventures, meriendas, 2 week crushes, and helping give birth to a young calf are a few among many experiences I will never forget. Although far apart, we are all very similar and have become family.
